Deputy Executive Director
Terry Jones serves as the Deputy Executive Director for the State Property Commission and has been with the state since August of 2024. Prior to his time with the state, he spent 32 years with the Carroll County School System in Carrollton, Georgia, where he most recently served as Assistant Superintendent. In this role, he oversaw operations across all Carroll County Schools, including capital improvement and construction projects, transportation, maintenance and facilities, code of conduct, safety and security, and information technology.
During his tenure, the Caroll County School System was recognized as a state-wide leader for innovative safety and security initiatives, including becoming the first school system in Georgia to host an annual Safety Summit.
Before his career in education, he served six years as a Commissioned Cavalry Officer in the U.S. Army and served in the Middle East as part of Operation Desert Storm. He holds a Master’s Degree and a Specialist Degree in School Administration from the University of West Georgia. Terry is married to Kimberly Butler Jones, and they have one daughter, Keely Jones Greene.
