SPC Improves Tracking Management
The State Properties Commission (SPC) has designed a new Space and Transaction Management Tracking System (SATMT) designed to provide more efficient and effective management and tracking of SPC’s space and transaction management processes.
SATMT, a collaboration between Space Management and Transaction Management, is a system that will track every demand for space action from the initial request through the completion or execution of a lease agreement or Intergovernmental Agreement.
The system enhances SPC’s ability to work with state agencies and entities to identify and secure commercially leased office space as well as track and communicate the status of each project.
“This program is just another example of our agency’s dedication to ensure we are providing services that meet the business needs of the agencies and the real estate portfolio goals of the State”, said Deputy Executive Director Frank Smith. “This tracking management system will help identify the bottlenecks in the process among SPC, the agency, Attorney General’s office and the Fire Marshall”. The program was developed by the State Properties Commission -Georgia Building Authority Information Technology team.
SPC’s Space Management Program offers the full range of professional planning services to State agencies in meeting their space needs. These services include analysis of space requests, developing space utilization programs to determine square footage requirements and preparing schematic floor plans to guide the space layouts.
The overall goal of Space Management is to maximize the utilization of space to create efficient work environments.
SPC’s Transaction Management team provides oversight for the State’s leased property portfolio. Services offered range from locating and procuring new leased locations to renewing or amending existing agreements as well as managing the State’s lease inventory. The team also manages both real property acquisition and disposition for state agencies.
